Ride the streetcar anywhere
Visit the sculpture garden in City Park—eat beignets at Cafe Du Monte in the park before or after
Get a drink at the French 75 Bar and eat some cheese puffs—go past the bathrooms and up the stairs to explore
For the more adventurous, park at the Music Box Village parking lot and walk across the tracks and up on to the levee—walk down to the End of the World, where the industrial canal and the Mississippi River meet
For the less adventurous, walk to the River Walk in the French Quarter to see the. river

If you’re staying at the Rathbone Mansions, they no longer serve breakfast but you can go around the corner to Fatima’s Cozy Corner or walk into the French Quarter to Croissant d’Or
Seaworthy or Luke for oyster happy hour
Cochon for upscale Cajun food or Cochon Butcher for more casual deli fare
Pizza Delicious—as close to NYC pizza as it gets in NOLA, family friendly
Secret Thai—if you feel like a drive to Chalmette, this place has great Thai food; WARNING—DO NOT GET ABOVE A 0.5 OR 1/5 SPICY LEVEL, NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU THINK YOU LIKE SPICY FOOD, YOU CAN’T TAKE THIS SPICY
Clesi’s Seafood for crawfish, although it’s a little out of season
Verdi Mart—for sandwiches in the French Quarter—it’s a deli, not a sit-down
Esplanade Mini-mart for boudin from the hot plate (another bodega place)—the crawfish kind are the best but shrimp and pork are good too
Lily’s Cafe for Vietnamese pho
Pagoda Cafe or Leo’s Breads for breakfast and bagels—they are across the street from each other—walk up to Domino Sound Record Store if you like tapes and records (cash only)
Addis NOLA—delicious Ethiopian food
Velveteen Lounge and Restaurant—delicious cocktails and burgers
Bacchanal Wine for cheese, charcuterie, wine and other food—outdoor venue with live music—has gotten touristy over the years so might have a wait but great for middle of the day
